Day Rides;
Rosie's Den: From Las Vegas take U.S. 95/93 (Stay on the 93 heading toward Boulder City) South from Vegas across Hoover Dam to Rosie's Den about 50 miles away, stop in for breakfast, lunch, dinner, or cocktails! Just riding out to Rosie's and back in the evening is a good relaxing ride.

After that stop in to Route-66 Motor Sports/Mother-Road HD in Kingman, AZ and check out a great selection of new and used bikes and riding apparel. Then head to Oatman, head west on the I-40 from there and look for the exit to Oatman. That is a nice scenic ride with a few twists and turns and hills. After you get to the top and start heading down you'll know when you get to Oatman, watch out for the Burro's and old west Gunfighters! Next is Bullhead-Laughlin, and U.S. 95 North back to Vegas.
Death Valley: Take the 160 out of Vegas thru Pahrump, follow the signs about 4 miles from the center of town. 260 miles round trip approximately. Stop by the Corkscrew while you're out there. Don't go in July or August...
Ely, Nevada: Take I-15 North to 93 north to Crystal Springs, then take the 38/318 to the 6 to Ely. Stop by the Hotel Nevada, which has a really cool vintage motorcycle collection and display. Ely is also the destination for the Annual Ride To The Middle Of Nowhere over Labor Day Weekend each year. The Hotel Nevada also offers a Motorcycle DISCOUNT so ask for it if you stop in, or call, or make on-line reservations! Hotel Nevada. On the way back take the 93 for some different scenery on the return to Vegas.
Mountain Springs Saloon & Over The Hump, to Pahrump, Death Valley etc.- From Vegas head South on I-15 to Hwy 160 and head West up the hill. When you get to the top stop in at Mountain Springs Saloon, there is usually a band rockin' away, food, beer, and plenty of places to sit and hang out inside or under a shady tree. Then if you're in the mood Pahrump is just a short scoot down the valley. Just past Pahrump you can catch Hwy 210 to Death Valley, not a recommended summer ride, a little chilly in the winter, but spring and fall it's a really nice ride. Take Hwy 210 to Hwy 190 thru Death Valley, then Hwy 374 to Beatty where you can take U.S. 95 South back to Vegas.
Short Branch Saloon, Crystal, NV. U.S. 95 North to Hwy 160. Small but still fun. "Howl At The Moon" Fridays, sometimes Saturdays, check their Calendar. 6 Motel Rooms which come in handy after watching the sun go down along with a few cocktails and Meatloaf! www.shortbranchsaloon.com
Seligman, Arizona Heart of Historic Route 66 - Take U.S. 93/95 to Kingman Arizona, at Kingman head East on the 66. Stop in at Hackberry for a soda and a trip back in time. You can stop by Keepers Of The Wild near Valentine, see the Grand Canyon Caverns, and check out all the Route 66 shops in Seligman.
The Roadkill Cafe & OK Saloon on the main drag in Seligman has good food and cold beer. From Seligman you can take I-40 West back to Kingman, faster and still a nice scenic ride.
Colorful Utah - Interstate 15 North, thru the Arizona Strip/Virgin River Gorge, then Utah where you can easily get to Zion, Kolob Canyon, etc. Leave early as this will take you all day but it's a great ride. I recommend the 15 North to Hwy 9 toward Hurricane, La Verkin, Rockville, Zion, then take the 89 North to Hwy 14 West toward Cedar City. Hwy 14 is an awesome ride. From Ceder City you can take I-15 South back to Vegas. If you're really adventurous you can keep heading North on the 89 and take Hwy 143 from Panguitch to Parawan and then catch the I-15 South back to Vegas. Lots of cool mom & pop cafes and photo-ops on these roads. One of my favorites is Navajo Lake. It is graded dirt road part of the way but worth the side trip if you like lakes. There are 3 Nt'l Forest Campgrounds along the lake, I recommend the furthest one, best shade spots. There is also a private Cabin Rental place located alongside the lake. LONG Day Rides or overnighters.
Flagstaff is a 2 day ride, The Grand Canyon is 3 days unless you start REALLY early and plan on getting back to Las Vegas VERY late while spending just enough time for a Photograph on the South Rim like Chevy Chase in the movie Vacation. Stay in Flagstaff there's lots more to do and places to stay, and hotels in Williams charge a lot more. Stay in the SW end of town near Wally-World, you won't hear trains all night long...
Four Corners, again a great ride but 3 days is better if you actually want to check anything out. 93 South to Kingman, AZ then the 40 East to Flagstaff, then the U.S. 89 North follow U.S. 160 East. Stay in Cortez or Durango Colorado, you can also stay in Farmington N.M. Monument Valley is a good side trip that is along the way. If you go to Monument valley plan on your bike getting a little dirty, but that's okay, it washes off and the scenery is stunning. Oh yeah, the U.S. Geological Survey folks set the 4 Corners Monument in the wrong place... it's actually, maybe, about 2-1/2 miles over there... but this is still recognized “The present location of the monument is correct according to the law that was in effect at the time of the surveys, back in the 1860s," according to the 4 Corners Website.

The SHORT way from Vegas: I-15 North to Orem, Utah where you'll want to take exit 272 for the Heber Pass to Heber and then catch the I-80 East to Evanston, Wyoming.
